Why Vidya

Most tools answer questions. Vidya learns you.

It reads your work, remembers your gaps, and shapes every session around the way you actually think. The longer you use it, the better it knows you, and your data stays yours: encrypted, never sold, and never used to train anyone else's model.

The Brain, coming soon

Your professor's teaching. Cited, or it refuses.

Professors put their course into Vidya: lectures, notes, the way they actually teach. Ask anything, and the Brain answers their way, showing exactly where every claim comes from. And when the course hasn't covered something, it says so, honestly, instead of guessing under your professor's name.

  • Grounded in your course. Every answer traces back to material your professor approved.
  • Honest refusals. "Not covered yet" beats a confident wrong answer, every time.
  • Your professor sees where the class is stuck. Never who asked.

Why does marginal-cost pricing break down when fixed costs are huge?
Your professor's course Price at marginal cost and you never recover the fixed costs you already sank; that's why lecture treated it as a second-best problem, not a broken model. Lecture 9, 12:40Notes, ch. 6
Is congestion pricing on the final?
Not covered in your course. Yet. Your professor hasn't taught congestion pricing. I won't guess under their name. Your question just went to their queue.

The Brain, coming soon

What does Vidya do exactly?

Vidya is a personal AI companion for your work in education. It answers, explains, plans, and remembers, and it would rather help you actually understand something than just hand you the answer. It connects to your tools so it knows your world, and it adapts to how you think over time.

What is the Brain?

The Brain is a professor's teaching, captured inside Vidya. The professor builds it from their own material, and every answer it gives is grounded in that material, with citations. If the course hasn't covered something, it says so honestly and routes your question to the professor. It never improvises under their name.

I teach. Can I build a Brain for my course?

Soon: we're onboarding a small group of professors first. Join the beta, mention that you teach, and we'll reach out with early access when your turn comes.

Which tools does Vidya connect to?

At launch: your LMS (Canvas, Moodle, Blackboard, Google Classroom), plus your files, calendar, and tasks. More connections follow based on what early users actually reach for.

Is my data safe?

Yes. Your data is encrypted, never sold, and never used to train anyone else's model. Your conversations never train models either, and no professor's material is ever pooled with another's. Vidya uses your data only to help you, and you can disconnect any source at any time.

When does the beta open?

The beta opens at the end of the first week of August. Access rolls out in waves, prioritized by how you plan to use Vidya, so reserve your spot and we will email you the moment your seat is ready.

How is Vidya different from ChatGPT?

ChatGPT answers a question and forgets you. Vidya remembers: your courses, your deadlines, where you got stuck, and what finally made it click. It prefers building your understanding over handing you answers. And where your professor has built a Brain, Vidya answers from their actual course, cited, instead of guessing.
